North Elementary

Cedar City Police Department: Dear parents, as a reminder the city has restricted parking, stopping, and standing along 200 north between 500 and 600 west. This also includes a 180 foot section from 200 N to just in front of the school (City code 35 section 10). We have been advised that the city will begin to enforce these restrictions. We recognize this creates an inconvenience for parents waiting to pickup their students. We are currently reviewing alternatives to alleviate traffic issues as well as the concerns of parents. Please be patient while this matter is addressed. In the meantime please be respectful of the “Red Zones”.

The last two weeks have been busy at North Elementary! The snowy weather could not keep our families away from another wonderful Muffins with Misses event! A huge thank you to our amazing PTA for putting on such a great event! Seventeen of our 5th graders were excited to attend Southern Utah Science and Engineering Fair at SUU for their Junior Fair. We are so excited for the eight students that placed in 2nd or 3rd place for their categories! STEM Career Day was a hit! Each grade level had multiple presenters in a variety of STEM fields (law enforcement, emergency services, aviation, engineering, broadcast/internet, etc). First grade students were able to tour SUU Aviation facilities. A huge thank you to each presenter that was able to come and support our students.

North Parents, Remember to help your child track their reading to help our school earn more funding for school activities! All completed reading charts must be submitted in person on April 26th by the children themselves (no bulk submissions) in order to earn the credit for your school! Paper forms are in the office if you cannot find yours.

North Elementary General PTA and Election Meeting All are invited to attend on Tuesday, March 18th at 3:50 pm in the faculty room. All PTA members are invited to vote for the 2025-2026 PTA Board. The nominations are as follows: President - Mikki Shakespear President Elect - Alexa Laub Treasurer - Becca Jones Secretary - Tasha Poulson Anyone wishing to run for an office from the floor must notify the secretary at northelementarypta@gmail.com.

North Elementary Kindergarten Registration Wednesday April 2nd, 2025 12:30 - 3:00 pm https://bit.ly/kregistration25 Children 5 years old on or before September 1, may register for kindergarten. All enrolling kindergarten students will need: 1. OFFICIAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE 2. ADDRESS VERIFICATION – Utility bill, mortgage statement, bank statement… 3. North Elementary hosted our annual spelling bee this week. Each 3rd-5th grade classroom advanced two students to compete in the school wide bee. Congratulations to our top two winners that will advance to the district spelling bee on March 19!

Yearbooks will be delivered the last week of school. Extras will be available the last week to purchase in the office with cash or check. You can check your orders on the website to see if you have already purchased a yearbook for this school year.

This message is for potential kindergarten families. The nurses and clerks from the health department will be here throughout Kindergarten registration on Wednesday, April 2nd from 12:30-3:00 pm to provide Kindergarten immunizations and will have a Spanish-speaking nurse available as well. Be sure to bring your insurance card, immunization record and a photo ID. No cost with proof of insurance. $20.50/shot if uninsured.
